On January 31st Craig Bagol (http://www.craigbagolphotography.com/) and I came together for another collaboration, but this time I was responsible for directing and styling the photo shoot. The concept I created was based on the 1983 film “Flashdance”; specifically inspired by the final dance scene in the movie. Although this film is a classic I wanted to draw in a bit of a modern feel to it, so I also was heavily inspired by Jennifer Lopez’s “I’m Glad” music video where she re-enacted the film.
Location was crucial in order to clearly depict the concept, so luckily we were able to work out a deal with Synergy Performing Arts Academy(http://www.synergyperformingartsacademy.ca) that allowed us to use one of their dance rooms for studio space. Our gorgeous model Veronica Phan (@veroni_cuh) had her hair and makeup done by one of Synergy’s teachers and competition manager Shereeka Gray (@_sheexo).
